Planned Geotechnical Investigations for Proposed Roadway Lighting On I-59 between the Clay/Chalkville Road Interchange (Exit 141)and the Deerfoot Parkway Interchange (Exit 143), in Trussville TRUSSVILLE – Weather permitting, beginning on September 23 at approximately 9 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will perform geotechnical investigations for proposed roadway lighting on I-59 between the Clay/Chalkville Road Interchange (exit 141) and the Deerfoot Parkway Interchange (exit 143), in Trussville, as follows: · Short duration temporary closure of the I-59 northbound and southbound outside (right) shoulders. · These shoulder closures are needed to provide adequate space for off-loading drilling equipment. · These actual soil borings will be performed outside of the roadway. · All travel lanes will remain open to traffic. · This phase of work is anticipated to take up to approximately 1-2 weeks to complete. Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during these Geotechnical Investigations, to improve Alabama’s roadways.
