Planning a big outdoor event and need a little inspiration? Outdoor spaces are great blank slates to fill with your dreams. Last summer I attended an outdoor corporate event for 1,000 on the lawn of San Franciscos City Hall. The event planner chose a Summer of Love theme complete with tie dye linen, a lively band playing 60s tunes and embraced the outdoors with cafe lights, caterers served a wide variety of finger foods and drinks from banquet tables throughout the space. They choose to for go a tent as little rain falls in August in San Francisco but they did have portable propane heaters thoughout. As Mark Twain said The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.
