Planning on adopting an animal this Christmas? While Im sure its a shelter-animals dream to go home for the holidays, please consider some more responsible alternatives. Sadly, most animals that are adopted as gifts end up back in the shelter. A better option-- and one that will still save a life-- is to have Santa bring pet supplies, books on pet care, and a prepaid certificate for adoption to be used a week later. This gives your family time to prepare for the new pet, and the chance for everyone to help pick it out.
