Plateau News Online Youths demonstrate for impeached Shekarau Men of the Joint Task Force on Friday dispersed some demonstrators at the gate of the Plateau State House of Assembly who were demonstrating against the suspension of the former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Johnbull Shekarau. The demonstrators who were few in number carried placards carrying different inscription reading “suspension is illegal”, “suspension is unconstitutional “and they were shouting “we no go agree! No go!! to express their anger. Although none of the demonstrating youth agreed to speak to journalists, it was clear that they wanted to send a message to the leadership of the House that they were not happy with the way the former deputy speaker is being treated. It will be recalled that last week, Plateau State House of Assembly suspended Hon. Johnbull Shekarau who served as the deputy speaker of the House from June, 2011 to October 9, 2013. The legislator who was said to have challenged his impeachment in court, the action did not go well with the member of the House. On Wednesday week, a motion was moved by the member representing Jos North West, Hon. Yakubu Choji seconded by the Majority Leader, Hon. Daniel Dem. The House went into an executive session to deliberate on the motion. After the session, the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Titus Alams announced the suspension order and constituted a five man committee chaired by the Hon. Isaac Arin, member representing Jos East constituency.
