Plateau govt sets up master plan committee By JIDAUNA DARING PLATEAU State Governor, Jonah David Jang has approved the constitution of a standing implementation committee, especially for the implementation of the Greater Jos Master Plan. A press statement signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Clement Bankat for the commissioner Engr. Solomon Maren and made available to SUNDAY STANDARD in Jos, Wednesday. According to the statement, the move was sequel to the resolutions adopted at the stakeholders retreat workshop on the master plan and the outcome of the 2013 midterm review retreat. It stated that, the membership of the implementation committee for the master plan include, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Ministry of Justice, Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), Ministry of Works, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment and PEPSA. Others are, Ministry of Information and Communication, chairman, Task Force on City Renewal, representative of Jos North, Jos East, Bassa, Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Riyom also included are Chief of Staff, partnership, Consultant, Northern Zone. Even as the committee is expected to submit a 3-monthly report to the governor. It however called on all membership of the committee to as a matter of fact cooperate with one another in order to ensure a full success of the work within the master plan areas in the state.
