Play Along. The idea is to fill Facebook with music, breaking the monotony of selfies and sensationalism. If you like this post you will be assigned a letter - which will be the first letter in the name of a musician, band or artist that you will post on your timeline with this text. I was given S by Adz Turnbull I choose Soundgarden but I find I cant do that without romanticising about Chris Cornell Songbook Tour(lucky it starts with S too!) Ok, so Ill admit I was a but dubious about seeing Chris Cornells solo tour, being a massive Soundgarden fan & having doubts of it being similar to Eddie Vedders solo performances. But what I was about to be privy to blew me away! Theres something to be said about a man who can engage an audience for 2 1/2hrs with only a guitar, his voice & stories. So amazing, he took us through a majestic tour of his life works & spoke of those who inspired & touched his life along the way. Was so intimate you could yell out a question & he would happily but humbly reply. I saw this performance at Palais theatre & he was spooked by tales of ghosts & the gold rush, which was so cute hehe. His stories were both humorous & emotional. I was so touched when he told us the story behind the red old style phone he uses as a prop on stage, being given to him by Jeff Buckleys mother after he passed away, so sad, but incredibly admirable. I could seriously go on all day about this tour, beyond brilliance. To say it exceeded all my expectations is a gross understatement. I have chosen Soundgarden - Rusty Cage because it was the first song of theirs I ever came across & it also introduced me to the wonderful world of down tuning & wah wah. I also love its bass riffs, although apparently my neighbours dont so much :D Songbook, if it ever graces our shores again down under, be there!! m.youtube/watch?v=pBZs_Py-1_0&feature=kp
