Played hookey for the day and visited the ARF Youth Center in Broshyan where I had a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Its not our tradition to thank people for doing that which we all took an oath to accomplish - but allow me to break that tradition for a moment. Thank you, Vaché Thomassian and the Sosé & Allens Legacy Foundation for your hard work to expand the Broshyan youth center - the progress is incredible. For all those who have donated to the Foundation, you can be sure that your support will make an incredible difference in the lives of the youth here. Thank you Tamar Yardemian Baboujian and Anya Agopian for all your hard work this summer to make the AYF Youth Corps a success. The Armenian Youth Federation Western Region held 5 summer youth camps in Artsakh and Armenia this summer - including, for the first time, a camp in border village of Baghanis. Kevork for being the thoughtful local ARF leaders who remind us that commitment to Homeland and Cause requires hard work - day in and day out - to make our collective dreams for our communities a reality. And, thank you Serouj Midus Aprahamian, for being among the legion who took the Tebi Yerkir slogan to heart, once again showing that repatriation isnt some nostalgic whim but a life decision which can lead to personal growth, career development and, ultimately, happiness.
