Player A controls a face-up Vanitys Emptiness, a face-down Mystical Space Typhoon and a Dark Magician. Player B controls a face-down Fairy Wind, a Karma Cut and has Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss in his hand. [Card texts below] Player B activates Fairy Wind, player A chains Mystical Space Typhoon, targetting player Bs Karma Cut. Player B chains Karma Cut, discarding Cir and targetting Dark Magician. Cir hits the Graveyard while Vanitys Emptiness is still on the field. Will player B be able to activate its effect? Can a rule be extrapolated for other situations where a monster meets its trigger at a time where its effect would not be able to be activated? Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Burning Abyss monster in your Graveyard, except Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss; Special Summon it. Vanitys Emptiness Neither player can Special Summon monsters. When a card is sent from the Deck or the field to your Graveyard: Destroy this card. Karma Cut Discard 1 card to select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, and remove it from play. Then, remove from play any cards in your opponents Graveyard with the same name as that monster.
