Players As most of you know yesterday I held my third yearly captains tournament. And as most of you know thw captains pay NOTHING to play in it and stand to win a FREE trip to TAP Nationals. This FREE trip is paid for by ME and does not come out of league money at all! We ended up with one female winner and one male winner. Most everyone had a great time. Now last night and today I find that I and my tournament are being bashed. WOW!!! Here is a clarification and the facts. My first captains tournament was a straight double elim race to 3. My second year captains tournament was a handicapped single elim. This year I changed the format once again this time we went to double elim. handicap with a final match a race to 6 male and race to 4 female. EVERYONE was informed in advance and if they did not like the format they could leave. The reason we went to a final race was obvious to everyone we would never have finished this in one day had all the players showed up. I have spent the better part of a month checking qualifications and notifying captains. One 12 hour summer sunday in a smoke filled pool room that I am not required by TAP to do. I could have spent that time with my Wife,Grand Kids or in my flower garden. On another note this WAS NOT a TAP event It was a George Natili Bought and paid for event. If it had been a TAP event I would have been running the Tournament Module and the Double red flag rule would have applied. Now with this all said I have found that a few bad apples can spoil the whole bushel. This bashing has left a bad taste in my mouth. So I will not be running any more captains tournaments. I will however start a new system to reward captains for outstanding peformance and promotion of the Route 19 TAP League. Thank You Players
