Players That Could Break The £100m Transfer Milestone [Laduma] Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are currently the football players with the highest value, but don’t seem to be leaving their teams any time soon… We bring you six players from the next generation of footballers that could break the £100 million milestone to become the most expensive player(s) in the world. Gareth Bale The current best player in the world is still only 25, and could easily get better. With his market value (£90 million when he left Tottenham) having already increased now that he’s won some silverware, and proven that he can play amongst the world’s biggest stars, can easily soar past the £100 million mark Eden Hazard Chelsea’s incredible Belgian winger is still a young man in the game and has been leading a new generation of superstars for years. At 23, he can definitely get better, and with Real Madrid said to be interested in his signature, the club that likes to spend big may come calling one day and make him the man to command the biggest ever transfer fee. Mario Gotze Bayern’s young star is a phenomenon for Pep Guardiola’s side and seems to possess an extraordinary level of talent after he was dubbed the ‘German Messi” early in his career. At 22, he still has many years ahead of him, and should he chose to make a move abroad, who knows how much money he could fetch for the German champions… One thing is for sure though, it will undoubtedly be near the £100 million mark. Neymar After a big money move to Barcelona which may (if some reports are to be believed) have already cost the Spanish club in excess of £100 million, Neymar remains many people’s favourite to overtake Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as football’s standout figure. Also just 22- years-old, his commercial value has been skyrocketing since he was a teenager and this would surely make him a favourite in our list. Paul Pogba The French midfielder has already won the Golden Boy award for 2013, and was also named the Best Young Player at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Given his incredible talent at the age of just 21, there’s little doubt that he has what it takes to be a global superstar and when the time comes for him to move on from Italy, the transfer fee that clubs will have to offer Juventus will have to be huge! Raheem Sterling Liverpool’s tricky winger is the youngest player on our list at 19. After being compared to Lionel Messi, his value is set to skyrocket and it has been reported that Real Madrid are interested in his signature. However, if another English club comes looking to sign him, his value would be even higher, given that he’s English. It, therefore, is very likely that he’ll become the first man to break the £100 million mark. So, there you have it. That’s our list! There are a lot of great players here and each of them will surely be major stars in the future. Who do you think will be the first to break the £100 million milestone?
