Playing Out filled its boots with cash for hi-viz vests and road cones (£41.2K) and Sustrans joined it with a number of project wins too - as the Mayors chums enjoy all the benefits of Bristol Green Capital 2015 money. Would be quicker just to hand cheques over to his friends now than to pass through the charade that this is independent and professionally assessed. Read below for the charade in all its glory.... (d) Declarations of interest: The Mayor declared an interest, principally relating to his daughter’s involvement with the Playing Out organisation, which was recommended for a grant by the assessment panel. He also referred to his involvement or connection with a number of other organisations, some of which were recommended for a grant, and some of which were not recommended for a grant. The Mayor took no part in the discussion of this item and formally delegated the taking of this decision to Cllr Geoff Gollop, as Deputy Mayor. Cllr Mark Bradshaw declared an interest, principally relating to his role as a trustee of At Bristol, and also in relation to his involvement with Greater Bedminster Community Partnership. Cllr Bradshaw took no part in the discussion of this item. Cllrs Simon Cook, Brenda Massey and Daniella Radice declared non-prejudicial interests in recognition of the fact that through their work as councillors, they knew individuals involved with particular applications. It was noted that the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and all Assistant Mayors had had no involvement in the selection of either the assessment panel or the recommended projects. https://bristol.gov.uk/committee/2014/ua/ua000/1216_dec.pdf
