Playing with Maria Schneider and Ensemble Denada over the last two nights has to have been the greatest musical honour in my life. I feel like if I never played another note again, I know what its like to sit with musicians who not only play at the highest technical level, but with such incredible emotion, musicality and professionalism. Watching Ensemble Denada perform their own material after the big band gig was mind-blowing. Ive never seen or heard an ensemble like that - UNBELIEVABLE compositions and playing! And the cherry on the cake, is that all the guys are the most friendly, chilled, humble people. The standard is set. Thanks to the guys at the East Jazz Centre in Oslo and Grahamstown for this amazing opportunity!
