Pleasantly surprised last night when I went to the movies and saw Nightcrawler. Had no idea what was playing or at what time, got there and noticed the movie. I honestly thought it was the “crawler” of X-Men fame, maybe a backdrop tale????… Rather it was an astute and heady rendition of one lone-wolf-evil/sociopathic man’s take on the world and how to find meaning and placement in a world filled with living things ‘people’ that he, ‘it soon becomes clear’ has, at times, no feelings for, then other times, pure hatred and loathing for. Fascinating in the way it offers how an intellectual mind, with sociopathic ‘clarity’ is able to manipulate and maneuver through the world, to gain access to a level of physical comforts with a woman, ‘who doesn’t desire him but only needs what he can ‘do’ for her’ start a career etc… There were no super powers but it was a curious blend of fascinating in the gory innards of the human beast and mirror-holding to those who spend lots of time alone…. I suppose it was timely for Halloween… Anyway that was Halloween for me, hope you all enjoyed and enjoy this rainy weekend….
