Please Circulate Kaslo Saturday November 8th While I am - TopicsExpress

Please Circulate Kaslo Saturday November 8th While I am in office until December 10th we are really now in a transition phase, especially after November 15th. I therefore just want to say thank you to my constituents for all the support and advice over the last nine years, and for making Gail and my life so interesting. I hope I have made a difference as your Director, but there are in hindsight some things I might have done a little differently...but on the whole as a businessman once said to me...always make sure you can look at yourself in the mirror when you get up in the morning. To those of you who have already voted I say thank you, as the only difference between us and those places in the world where people are shooting at each other is that we try to settle our differences through dialogue, conversations and at the ballot box. In a democratic society the people are never wrong, they only make choices sometimes that are different than the ones you or I might make. If you are having trouble making up your mind on how to vote on the Kootenay Lake Local Conservation fund, you might want to read my letter in the November 4th Kootenay Lake edition of the Pennywise at page 17. There is only one planet that we can live on and I think we need to do a better job of taking care of it in the same way we care for our children and grandchildren. If you are having trouble deciding between Aimee and Donna, please read my endorsement of Aimee in my last Directors Corner that will be published in the November 11/12th Kootenay Lake edition of the Pennywise. The weather next week is predicted to be cold and clear, going as low as minus 11 at night, so please have a mind to help your neighbours, especially seniors, get to the polls on Saturday. There are four polling stations in Area D at the Argenta Hall, Lardeau Valley Community Centre, Kaslo Legion, Ainsworth Hall and if you are shopping or visiting Nelson the RDCK Offices at 202 Lakeside Drive. Polls are open from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM and I expect results will be out sometime after 9.00 PM, which I will circulate and will no doubt be posted on Facebook. We are very blessed to live in such an amazing part of the planet and despite ongoing economic difficulties I am firmly convinced that the people of North Kootenay Lake, the Lardeau and Duncan Valleys will succeed in continuing to build their communities and live, work and play here,. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve in public office and I wish you all well from the bottom of my heart, and the best of the Solstice Season that is coming up next month. Respectfully submitted Andy Shadrack Director Area D RDCK (Past President Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments Union of BC Municipalities Executive)
