Please Help!!!! The plans for the new childrens hospital in Perth has caused absolute outrage amongst the mums in the oncology ward at PMH (cancer ward, 3B).. There is no planned family room/kitchen for oncology!! This room is the ONLY place on the ward with couches, a quiet place to sit, other families who Understand what were going through to chat too or turn to for support, the ONLY place we can cook a quick meal, use the microwave, have a shower or use the fridge to store our kids food. This room in the cancer ward at PMH has been the ONLY thing thats kept me sane when we have stayed in hospital for long periods of time. If I had to leave the ward for any of the above things, I would struggle. All Cancer kids are hooked up to an IV whilst in hospital & cant leave the ward. Mylah is 10 months old, I cant leave her for long! Oncology NEED a family room!! The risk of using a shared family room with other wards is too dangerous!! If a child has low blood counts (a side effect from chemo) & catches an infection.. They are then at a high risk of losing their life. Horrible & harsh truth. I pray to God that they change their plans & solve this huge problem!! PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION!!
