Please Note: No offenders is identifiable. Jenny and her faithful team had a blessed and meaningful time with 28 Female Offenders on the Restorative Justice Process, 16 - 30 August 2014. The Reconciliation Day on 30 August 2014 was extremely powerful but also extremely painful but we experienced the presence of God and the power of the truth was evident. The offenders needs ongoing support therefore Jenny and her team will have follow up sessions for the next eight weeks. According to the offenders, Worcester Correctional Centre will never be the same again because this RJ Process is long overdue. Yesterdays confessions to the families was extremely powerful. It was also sad to hear their family background. Questions by the family was: Are you guilty? How long is your sentence? What did you do? The answers was painful for the families but it help them realizing the reality of long sentences. They promised their support. Some families shared in such emotional ways that a person thought that they will collapse. A few offenders share deep routed issues with their families and that caused that most of the offenders, RJ Team, family members and Correctional Officials were in tears. Thank you once again to Mr Cecil Petersen (The Area Commissioner of the Breede River Management Area) The acting head of Centre, Mrs. Valentine and Mr. Stryers. Wow wow wow, they were so supportive and they really showed their appreciation for the RJ Process. They said, In spite of some obstacles, God showed that this RJ Process was much needed They were persistent with the support of the Area Commissioner who said from the beginning that he want this RJ Process. One offender apologized to the Correctional Officials for being so rude and violent at times. The other offender stood up and said: Wow, this girl is my opposition in the room but with such confession and apology, I want to give her a hug To God be the Glory.
