Please Post!! ________________________________________ Rainbow Foods Sold; Acquired by Local Grocers It was announced today, May 7, 2014, that Roundy’s, Inc., parent company of Rainbow foods has sold its Twin Cities Rainbow Foods division to local grocers. SuperValu, Jerry’s Enterprises and Lund Food Holdings, Inc. have entered into an asset purchase agreement for 7 of the 10 stores in the St. Paul area. Stores not purchased are located in Cottage Grove, Inver Grove Heights and Shoreview. Purchased locations are in the Midway area of St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale, Arcade Street (St. Paul), Larpenteur Avenue in Roseville, South Robert Street in West St. Paul, and Woodbury. We expect that current members who work at existing operations will transition to the new ownership arrangement. We are proud of our members’ commitment and experience in the retail food industry and expect their value as retail professionals to be honored as jobs are filled. We are confident that the new ownership of the existing Rainbow stores will be a model to other retailers in supporting jobs which pay a living wage, honor worker rights and support other locally owned operations.
