Please Read!!!! Coming off one of our most successful Track seasons in recent years (2014) having several of our runners ranked below twenty nationally in their age group & two ranked as low as five. We decided to set our sights for the 2015 season Finale on The National Club Championships, held in Orlando Florida @ the ESPN Sports Complex. Looking each kid in the eyes at the end of the 2014 season it became very apparent they took to heart our goal when we started C.VS.A(Minds in Motion). The goal… we have repeated over and over…..”Do we want to be the best in Merced? No!! Do we want to be the Best in California? No!! Do we want to be the best in the Nation? Yes!!” “our we just Motion?” No “We are (Minds) In Motion) these kids put their hearts and soul into it the words they uttered, practicing sometimes twice a day 6am…then in the evening 7pm from Feb to July. As the season came to an end….we as Coaches and Parents realized we did not have the financial structure to support taking all our National Junior Olympic qualified Athletes to the Olympics held this year in Iowa. Hearing the news that we would not be going to the National J.O. crushed every one of them. Their young faces seem to just fall, the wind seemed to be sucked out of them…..But these amazing kids having the never accepting defeat attitude started asking questions” What do we have to do to finally get to the big stage?.... What do we have to do to compete against the best in the Nation?” How much money do we need to raise? How can we earn Money? How can we raise Money? How are all the other teams making it? First we were all astonished by the amount of grit and passion these kids had……then it didn’t surprise us at all…these were the same kids….who went from being the best in Merced to the best in California to some of the best in the Nation in less than 4 years. So here’s where the Community comes into play…where the parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grand Parents, friends, family, and supporters of good…supporters of the underdog. (The Village)Come into play. Getting these kids to Florida in 2015 will be a group effort, full of Fundraising, creative sales, volunteering, small donations corporate donations, hard work, elbow grease, and lots of prayer. I (Coach Hassaan) founder of Minds In Motion Track & Field personally in the past have always had too much pride to ask for help, but after seeing these kids work their hearts out and not be able to get them to the Nationals on my own…I am willing to put that all in my back pocket and do whatever it takes to reach our goal..
