With only two days left in the fund-raiser, our hope of raising $700 for these little tykes should be met if not exceeded. In case you dont know this, the shelter is in a very rural area of Tennessee. Hardly anybody goes there to adopt but they sure can find the place to drop off dogs and puppies. Mandy runs the place by herself, she takes no salary (she works a job to support herself and her residents) and currently has almost EIGHTY dogs, dozens of puppies and some cats & kittens. Mandy took some dogs to an Adoption Event yesterday. One dog MIGHT have a new home and after sitting there for the entire day, there was $1.95 in the donation jar. To make matters worse, six people wanted to turn in their own dogs to the shelter!! So you see that your money will be going to a place that needs your help in the worst way. Youre not only helping these orphaned pups but youll be helping other animals as well. Just to repeat yesterdays post so youre up to speed... We have a puppy update for you (and two new photos taken today!) Thanks to the great folks who have donated so far to help these orphaned babies, they were able to see the Vet and get a tip of nose to tip of tail examination. Even though they were abandoned and in the rain for who knows how long, theyre doing very well. They had their first round of puppy shots, had a fecal exam, their first de-worming and a flea/tick treatment. They will be on the de-worming cycle for a while because they are simply loaded with worms, poor things! The flea/tick treatments will help them get rid of all the nasty bugs soon. Thats a good thing because any pet is in danger of anemia if the blood-suckers remain too long, not to mention being in danger of a disease getting a hold of them.
