Please Share! posted by:The Arrow Fund Prospect, KY Update -Ruby - The Arrow Fund Ruby is pictured here standing on her way outside for a potty break and a break from her IVs as well. We are still waiting for the culture results on her skin and her ear to come back. Should be there Monday . At this point Ruby seems to be completely deaf. She responds to love. We hope to find a forever home for this old girl and bypass a foster situation. She is old and just needs a place to lay her head and be loved. She has not seen much love in her life - that is evident. Surgery still may need to be performed on her ear - we will know more in the next week. She still does have a gallbladder surgery in her future but she must gain much needed weight before that happens. It is pitiful the way she has been neglected her whole life.... Please send Ruby love and prayers - she needs it ! If you think you could be her forever home please contact us - we would love to be lining that out as we take care of her urgent medical needs . METRO ANIMAL SERVICES TREATED HER THE BEST THEY COULD - SHELTERS ONLY HAVE LIMITED RESOURCES - AND THEY REALIZED SHE NEEDED EMERGENCY EXPERT CARE - SO THE ARROW FUND OFFERED TO HELP THIS SWEET GIRL. THANKS TO METRO OFFICER KARA FOR TRANSPORTING HER . HER RIGHT EAR AND EYE IS AN INFECTED MESS . SHE IS ANEMIC AND HAS A HIGH WHITE COUNT DUE TO INFECTION. SHE IS EXTREMELY DEHYDRATED AND UNDERWEIGHT. RADIOGRAPHS WERE TAKEN AND IT LOOKS AS IF A HIP HAS BEEN BROKEN AND NOT TREATED AND FUSED TOGETHER . AT BLUE PEARL THEY ALREADY HAVE REMOVED A TRASH CAN FULL OF MATS -THEY ARE NOW GIVING HER A BATH. SHE WILL BE PUT ON IV ANTI BIOTICS AND FLUIDS FOR THE NIGHT AND THEY HAVE PREPARED HER A SOFT COMFY BED. SHE IS ONLY 22 LBS. AND IT SEEMS SHE KNOWS WE ARE HELPING HER . BLESS HER HEART .... TOMORROW THE SURGEONS WILL EVALUATE HER COMPLETELY- IT IS LIKELY HER EAR WILL NEED SURGERY . WILL CHECK ON HER THROUGH THE NIGHT AND UPDATE TOMORROW .
