Please attend the candlelight vigil on Sunday the 28th at 6:30pm on Pacific Avenue, between Laurel & Spruce, at the location where our father was senselessly victimized and eventually killed from a hit and run drunk driver. Please feel free to show support, demand publicly for the accused (Joanna Steele) to be placed back in custody until the trial & eventually a real jail time conviction. I had to see this woman (she barely deserves that adjective) in court & she did not look the least bit ashamed but rather pissed to have to be there. Her minimal insurance states she had an exclusion to coverage (IMHO due to her reckless driving charge in 2010) and & is fighting paying out a dime for the medical expenses & family expenses normally covered by bodily injury insurance. Justice? Our father was a good man, loved by so many in so many different places & ways. Its hard to accept the death of anyone you love, but 12 days (hes a stubborn man!) of false hope and sleeping on hospital floors just to watch his bloated body, cut open abdomen and broken bones (too unstable for surgery) lay there....was heart wrenching and he was barely recognizable.. Please come Sunday the 28th @6:30pm to Pacific Avenue between Laurel & Spruce to call attention having the current penal code 20002: Felony Hit and Run Leading to Serious Bodily Injury OR Death change into 2 separate charges with separate minimal bail charges and sentences in a Hit & Run resulting to DEATH. The current charge could mean PROBATION ONLY for Steele. Thank you.
