Please be vigilant ……. A burglary took place in Meopham during the day in Evenden Road on Thursday at 2pm and according to police, many homes are being targeted on a daily basis in Meopham, Hartley and the surrounding areas by a gang of Eastern European men who are acting as salesmen / canvassers knocking on doors. A neighbour who saw them coming from the property has described them as burly men dressed in smart suits. It has since been discovered that they operate with usually 1 driver in a silver BMW 3 series coupe saloon 4 door car with tinted rear windows on a ’04 plate and 3 are on foot. They use false ID tags placed around their necks. Genuine door traders knock on every door in a road, especially the ones where people appear to be home ..... so please just be vigilant. If you feel that someone suspicious has knocked on your door and not others or you see someone knocking on another door but not yours, it could be a part of this gang, please dial 101 for the police, they are waiting for help in catching these criminals.
