Please bear with me as I am feeling very philosophical this evening.... If President Lincoln were to exist in this day, he would not be a republican. And for those that tout that the democrats were once the ones who upheld slavery and scoffed at human rights, what does that say about your positions now? Many of President Lincolns beliefs and positions would be viewed today as far left... the tea party would have you convinced he was liberal scum. My point is, however, that the delineation of a party title is not what makes us Americans. Its is a moral conviction that were are, as the Constitution says, equal. Not just the ones who say they are equal, the one who profess to be better and above, but all humans living in this country. If you truly believe in the Constitution and the convictions written to guide this country by the founding Fathers, then you cannot pass judgment by right of a party.
