Please check on any elderly folks you know during this heat wave. Take them a meal, some Gatorade or homemade lemonade and visit with them a bit. Make certain they are able to keep cool and hydrated. Elderly loose their sense of thirst and need reminders to drink enough fluids. They easily become dehydrated. When my Grammy was struggling to drink enough we found that if we filled a pitcher with what she needed to drink in a day and kept it on the counter with a glass next to it she did much better.
