Please consider attending the public hearing at 6pm tonight at Vogel-Wetmore School to express your support for middle school athletics. Under Torringtons current budget proposal, Torrington Middle School will not have any funding for a school athletics program. Each year, the TMS Boys Soccer team provides opportunities for around 35 boys in grades six, seven, and eight with soccer skills, sportsmanship, citizenship, teamwork, and a long list of other benefits. Our sister program, the girls team, does similarly, and together, give back to the community with the Soccer Showdown that benefits the hungry in Torrington. In terms of students reached per dollar, TMSBS is second only to cross country, but all TMS athletics are currently unfunded, and therefore cut. Show your support.
