Please does anyone know who has the responsibility of the upkeep/maintenance of green areas in the locality? I can only hope that the radical cutting back of the hedgerow in the playing field adjacent to Westfield Way/ Clary Road is still to be completed properly! The hedgerow on the Coriander Way edge of the field, can only be described as being hacked. What worries me, is the safety of young children, playing in the field. The jagged stumps/branches which have been left randomly sticking out of the soil and poking upwards, in my opinion really could pose a risk of injury (slight or otherwise) if fallen on. The debris from the cutting, has been left strewn around the edges of the field, creating a wide border (for want of a better word) of very sharp remnants of twigs and branch parts. I found out how sharp they are when one poked into the sole of my sandal. It seems so out of character to see such a mess from maintenance as opposed to the usual pride shown.
