My son will be 2 weeks old on Thursday and have been having nothing but trouble feeding. He was born 9lb 7oz and dropped to 8lbs 4oz by the time we left the hospital 4 days later (c-section). The nurses at the hospital instructed me to supplement a few times a day to get his weight up. Relying mostly on Breastfeeding, he went up an ounce over the next 3 days, so the doctor instructed me to increase the supplementing and try to pump. So, tomorrow will be a week that Ive been breastfeeding, supplementing, and pumping. On Friday I had a LC come visit at my house and switched me to tube supplementing because she said my son was a lazy sucker. Ive been eating the cookies, oatmeal, taking fenugreek, drinking more water than I can stand, but Im still pumping less than an ounce a pump and supplementing 2.5-3 ounces each feed. Im beside myself, but I dont want to give up. Is it a lost cause?
