Please excuse me today, as I will be taking ex-teacher privileges; - TopicsExpress

Please excuse me today, as I will be taking ex-teacher privileges; and also issue a challenge. Teaching in the 70s.....I was blessed with some great PE kids and gymnasts. Yesterday, I opened up an old baggie with many letters in it. The first one I opened was from my last group of gymnastic girls, December, 1974. Girls, I hope you remember who you are....and please know how your sweet card ministered to me then, and now, 40 years later. I opened it and cried. I found an apology note from a friend.....had forgotten all about the incident, but it brought tears, that she would bear her soul and apologize for an action. Then, of course, there were love letters from Jim Crow. We dated when I began teaching at Bayard Cobre....but he lived 7 hours away. So, much correspondence came by mail. Treasured memories! A memory book as I retired. Sweet thank you notes from my gifted kids. A precious letter from Cowboy Junction Church when they bought our home. Tears, yes....but treasures. Ones that I can keep on my heart and in that baggie until I am no longer here. Why do I tell you this? Communication has gotten informal, almost untouchable. And, in years to come.....memories might fade, but writings will be here. I challenge you to write that letter or send that card to someone that the Lord puts on your heart. Write it in your own handwriting. No typing. ;) There will be no grading the structure, I promise. Its the content. If you need to apologize, or encourage or show support.....please do so. (But no whining! ) Be assured, it will make someones day. And it is my belief that we are following an age-old Model. The Bible. After all, Paul was a wonderful writer of anointed words from the Lord. And where would we be now, without them? 1 Thess. 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up... I love you so. Thanks for reading. Hugs.
