Nemours Building! NABFEME will be celebrating the success of Delaware’s own female “movers and shakers” and “trailblazers” by presenting “High Heels in High Places”. High Heels in High Places represents strong, cutting-edge career women who through courage, resilience and wisdom have helped to redefine the positioning of women in the workplace and women in music and entertainment. High Heels in High Places is not about showcasing super stars or well-known women. Rather it is about typical career women who represent untypical career advancement circumstances. You will be inspired, shocked, amused and amazed by their stories. And, by sharing their career journeys, NABFEME strives to honor these women for their ability, while allowing you to grow from their success and experiences. Come join the panel discussion! Johnnie Walker is the Founder of NABFEME; the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment, Inc. Walker holds the distinction of being named the first female Sr. Vice President of Promotion for the Island Def Jam Music Group. Walker helped in developing the careers of Flavor Flav, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, 3rd Bass, Redman, Method Man, Montell Jordan, Case and Foxy Brown! Later promoted to Sr. Vice President, Walker and her winning team launched and/or developed the careers of Jay-Z, Sisqo, Kelly Price, Ashanti, Ja Rule, DMX, LL Cool J, Musiq Soulchild, Dru Hill and many others. Along with delivering several #1 Platinum and Gold albums, Walker’s team successfully co-marketed the HBO Def Comedy Jam series, Def Poetry Jam, Phat Farm and Baby Phat clothing lines as well as Russell Simmons’ co-produced movies The Nutty Professor, The Klumps, Rush Hour 1 and 2.
