She was born and raised in Olivia. She is a 1991 graduate of BOLD high school. She lives in Olivia with her husband Corey and they have three children. Two of whom are current students at BOLD school. She has been in the restaurant business for the past twenty years, thirteen of those as owner and operator of Max’s Grill and Sheep Shedde Inn. She spent six years serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board. Traci feels besides ensuring the financial longevity of our rural school district her main goal is to reduce the animosity between staff and administration. As a business owner she realizes that the relationship between employer/employee can be rocky at times but the answer isn’t to stop listening and talk louder at each other. She would like to make sure that board meetings are held in venues that allow all community members to attend and be heard, not standing in the hallways. She also feels it is important to be communicating with the staff as these are the people most affected by decisions being made. She understands that the school board must make tough and unpopular decisions and that her votes may not always be the most popular. However, she will promise to sit down and look the superintendent, any staff or parent in the eye and tell them why. Her experience in the restaurant business provides her with an understanding of managing finances, working within a budget but most importantly creating an environment that promotes high employee morale which directly benefits the customer (Information in this profile was provided by the candidate)
