Somali One is a new organization whose mission is to help Somalis achieve peace and economic stability through the common practice of political inclusivity, dialogue and tolerance. Somali One encourages civic participation through engaging youth, empowering women and promoting constructive dialogue across clan lines and regions of Somalia. Mohamed Abdirizak has been working to make a better Somalia for decades. He is a former official with the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), the United Nations, and the National Democratic Institute. Now he has created Somali One and is coming to Minneapolis to discuss its goals and the role of the diaspora in achieving peace and economic stability in Somalia.
