Please join me in praying that all wildfires will be put out in California and Oregon. Govenor Brown declared El Dorado and Siskiyou Counties to be in a state of emergency. The El Dorado or King Fire has burned over 70,000 acres, and is only 5% contained, and has caused 2,100 people to be evacuated. Authorities just arrested an arsonist that started the fire. The Siskiyou fire has burned 375 acres, and is 65% contained. The town of Weed has had 150 homes and/or other structures destroyed, with another 1,000 homes threatened. The buildings destroyed inclulde 2 churches, the library, and a community center that helps the poor. Also damaged was the lumber mill, which is the biggest employer in the area, and many people will be laid off for the next few months while they repair the damage. Lets pray that these fires get put out quickly, that there is no more homes/buildings destroyed, and for protection for the firefighters and all others involved. cnn/2014/09/18/us/california-fires/
