Issues to be addressed include: How to communicate with our youngsters about admissions results and help families prepare for school transitions. Our panel: • Todd Germaine, LCSW, OTR, owner of Practice for Reflective Parenting, is a psychotherapist and a licensed occupational therapist who works with children, adolescents and parents. • Sherri Maxman, owner of College Maven, LLC, has a specialty in providing college counseling for high school students and is a parent of two daughters who have graduated from NYC schools. Ms. Maxman is a graduate of the Independent Educational Consultants Association’s Summer Training Institute and is a member of NYSACAC. • Erika Nagy, LCSW, is a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst specializing in parenting issues. Ms. Nagy also holds a MA in Education and certificates in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. • Matthew Stuart, MA, is the Head of School at The Caedmon School. He was formerly Head of Upper School at The Town School. Mr. Stuart is a senior school administrator who has counseled many families to ongoing schools. • Sharon Thomas, MSC, MSED, Director of MAIA Education Resource Center and Educational Consultant at the Brearley School. Ms. Thomas is an education expert and works closely with families for school placement counseling and educational planning.
