Please join us in congratulating Sue Ellen Bennett on her new position as the Associate Vice President of Patient Care Service at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital. Sue-Ellen Bennett, MSN, RN recently served as the Administrative Director of Patient Care Services at DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center. She was responsible for outcomes of care, financial performance, patient experience, and accountable for standards of practice. Sue-Ellen has been successful in leading Detroit Receiving Hospital to performance improvements in patient care and/or program delivery for the Critical Care Service, Perioperative Services, Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care Center, in the Burn Clinic, with the Trauma Care Program, with Advanced Practice Nursing and in Stroke Care. Ms. Bennett began her career as a Staff Nurse in a neuro/neurosurgical intensive care unit in 1979. She joined Detroit Receiving Hospital in 1990 as a Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Since 1992, Sue-Ellen has held a variety of supervisor, manager and director positions with the Detroit Receiving Hospital. Notably, she served as the Interim VP of Patient Care Service at Receiving Hospital in 2013. Sue-Ellen earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 1998. She also earned a master’s degree in Health System Management from the University of Detroit in 2006. She was a summa cum laude graduate from both her bachelors and masters programs.
