Mr. Glover has served on the board for 10 years and has served as vice chair in years past. I accept this responsibility with great pride and joy,” says Glover. “I hope my ethical beliefs and practices will serve this board well.” Mr. Glover is a recently retired North Carolina State Highway Patrolman and is married to Holly Glover, a Cleveland County Schools’ 3rd-grade school teacher. They have two children, one in elementary and one in middle school. Phillip Glover and Shearra received unanimous board approval for chairman and vice chair respectively. Mr. Glover succeeds Dr. John C. Hamrick, Jr., who announced he would not seek the chair position for an additional term. “I have always felt that the chairman’s job is vital and very important, says Hamrick. “Any member of the board is capable of serving as the chairperson, and I believe it is very healthy for a schoolboard to experience change in that position to ensure continued excellence and improvement. The new chairman has my heartiest endorsement,” Hamrick adds.
