Please join us in sending your prayers to Maxine and Tab on the passing of Helen, a then 10 year-old dog when the couple adopted her more than two years ago through our partnership with Leavenworth County Humane Society. Recently Helen was deaf, blind and had trouble walking, but soaked up all the love this wonderful couple could give. Tab is a retired Army Colonel who served our nation for more than 33 years. This second photo is Tab with Helen (left) and recently departed Rosie; the two girls were best friends and Helen was never the same once Rosie passed away. Our thanks to Tab and Maxine for the opportunity to bring some four-legged joy into their lives, and for being heroes to pets in need.
