Please keep Janene (Tanner) Bell and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Vernon E. Tanner, 96 year old resident of Randall, MN, died Sunday, November 2 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 6 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic in Little Falls, MN. Vernon E. Tanner was born August 22, 1918 in Eustas, Nebraska to Milon and Rose (Huckfeldt)Tanner. Vernon was united in marriage to Laverne Boser in 1944. They were blessed with two children. Vernon and Laverne were divorced in 1963. In the spring of 1964, Vernon met Mary Langner. They were united in marriage on March 5, 1965. Vern not only took on a wife, but also ten children. Vern and Mary had four of their own children. He all did this with a loving heart. Vernon enjoyed every day of his life that he was blessed to have. He especially loved fishing and went every time he had the opportunity to go. Shortly before he passed, he dreamt that he caught a 29 pound crappie on a five pound test line off the dock. Vernon had an amazing memory until the very end. He enjoyed telling stories about his life adventures. Vernon had a love of reading Louis L’amour books. Our Heavenly Father received him with loving arms in Heaven. All who knew Vern were blessed to know him and share his life of 96 years and be a part of his stories. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Tanner of Randall, MN; children, Terry Tanner of Little Falls, MN, Gloria Langner of Blaine, MN, Doreen (Bert) Hanson of Big Lake, MN, Allan Langner of Onamia, MN, Hedwig (Don) Wolbeck of Cushing, MN, Tom (Traci) Langner of Baxter, MN, Veronica Langner of Rockville, MN, Sharon Wickham (Bob Schneider) of Cold Spring, MN, Linette Thesing (Brian Kiess) of Cold Spring, MN, Janene (Les) Bell of Motley, MN, Mike (Kerry) Tanner of International Falls, MN. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by his, parents, Milon and Rose; brothers, Roy, Gilbert and Orville; sisters, Helen, Violette, Leona and Laura; sons, David, John and Jeff; daughters, Denise and Mary; grandsons, Dennis and Ty, granddaughter, Tricia and great-granddaughter, Jasmyn. We will dearly miss Dad’s smile, his joking, and his stories.
