Please keep Justin in your thoughts and prayers. He has been refusing food for the last two days, no matter what I have tired ( merrick, cesars, purina one, mighty dog, chicken, scrambled eggs) He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in April of 2012 and has done well on lasix and enalapril. He is still fairly active, drinking wagging his tail, he has not had any coughing or shortness of breath thank God. Hopefully there will be something that Dr Cook can do for him. At his age, ( 16-18 yrs old) being blind, deaf combined with the CHF he is not going to be a candidate for any kind of surgery, so we are praying it is just a stomach bug. I have started him on antibiotics hoping they will help. I am also syringe feeding him what little I can get into him and supplementing his diet with nutri-cal. This little soul, loved by everyone who has ever spent a minute with him, who is such a gentle soul could really use a hand from above. I am a firm believer in doing, I believe God helps those who help themselves but I also believe in times of despair when you have done all that you can do...sometimes the only we can do...is pray For our newer friends who do not know Justin, he came to us after being removed from his owners home due to neglect on March 28,2008. He was covered in motor oil, matted and required surgery for what we thought was a cyst,it turned out to be a dead embedded tick that had abscessed. He suffered with sever separation anxiety and was never placed up for adoption as we did not want to put him through anymore trauma .
