Please keep firefighter Joseph Sanford Jr. of the Inwood Fire Department and his family in your prayers as he is laid to rest this week. Firefighter Sanford tragically passed away from the injuries he sustained while battling a fire last week in Woodmere. His passing serves as a tragic reminder of the dangers firefighters face each and every day to keep us safe. May he Rest in Peace. The wake for firefighter Sanford will be held Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, on Wanser Avenue in Inwood, from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery on Nassau Road in Uniondale at 10:30 a.m.
