Please mark Oct. 20 on your calendar, as the annual Buddy Walk will be held at John Prince Park. The Royal DJs will be there to help provide music! Over the years the Buddy Walk® has grown locally and nationally. In 2012, the Palm Beach County Buddy Walk®, now held in John Prince Park, had 2500 attendees and raised $155,000 to support local programs for individuals with Down syndrome. Over 100 teams and hundreds of individual participants walked to show their support for a loved one or friend with Down syndrome. For Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization, the Buddy Walk® is an amazing opportunity to reach out to the community with our message; see the potential, see that people with Down syndrome can and do achieve. Community awareness opportunities allow us to celebrate the abilities of all individuals with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk® is also an organization fundraiser that allows us to raise the dollars that support Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization programs throughout the year.
