Please mark your calendar for Community Stormwater Solutions on Friday October 17, 9 – 11 a.m. at the Leominster Public Library. The meeting will share lessons from the Monoosnoc Brook Renewal project. Learn how Leominster took a community approach to solve stormwater problems and remove 500 tons of debris and sediment from Monoosnoc Brook. Municipal boards, builders, engineers, watershed and lake associations will gain practical information to make positive impacts in their own communities. The free workshop at the Library will be followed by an optional tour nearby bio-swales, tree box filters, porous walkways and other BMPs. Stormwater is the leading cause of damages to streams, lakes and water supplies. Fortunately, there are effective ways to prevent and fix polluted runoff.
