Please mark your calendars for the first annual Veterans Ball on Oct 9, 2014 from 5:00 t0 9:00 PM at the Chateau. Dinner tickets are $40.00 per person and they may be purchased at the general membership meeting (GMM) on July 24th at the Donald W. Reynolds building (Parasol building) on Incline Way OR at the Incline Village Recreation Center on Incline Way. The rec center will take credit cards as well as cash or checks. However, at off-site venues such as our GMM, cash or checks ONLY. Please purchase ball tickets early, as the seating is limited to 200 for this dinner and entertainment event. Steve Price will be the master of ceremony and we look forward to the many surprises he has in store. Military members are encouraged to wear mess dress. The dress theme is “Semi-Formal” (coat and tie, dresses or skirt) As a separate fund raiser, the club is offering Raffle tickets for $10.00 each. Sales are limited to 1,000 tickets. The grand prize for two: Three days and two nights at the Grand Hyatt San Diego with round trip air travel provided by Southwest Airlines. The odds are good, so buy your tickets early. The winner will be announced at the ball on Oct 9th and the grand prize package is valid until Oct 9, 2015. Don’t miss out. Both tickets are available per the above comments. This is an exciting year for our club in its support of the Veterans and their families. Please join us for these meetings. We look forward to your participation. As a reminder, Rookies restaurant and bar provides a portion of our lunch. The club sponsors additional pizza and the salad to accommodate the entire group attending. A $5.00 donation is appreciated to help cover the cost. Pizza, salad and drinks. What a bargain. Oh, and great speakers too!! Mark your calendars for August 28, 2014. The meeting will be at the Aspen Grove building BUT stand by for a potential change. Our speakers will be the crew of the Nevada Air National Guard. They were tasked to support the parachute jump during the reenactment ceremony over France on June 6, 2014. This will be a great presentation. Mark your calendars September 25, 2014. The IVGID staff hosts a BBQ for all Veterans at the Aspen Grove BBQ area. This is also the date nominations are sought for club officers and directors. Once the nominations are received, a ballot will be prepared for voting at the Oct meeting. Thank you to all that participated in the events of July 4th and 5th. Please spread the word to other Veterans that this is an annual event which grows yearly. Our community is indeed fortunate to have Veterans and their families in support of our club, community, state and country.
