Please note the DEADLINE ON THIS ONE: JVS- Los Angeles is in the process of launching a new education and training program. ApartmentWorks is an apartment maintenance technician certification program. We are currently recruiting for program participants. I believe there are likely a good number of clients within your organization who would be a good match for this class. We will be kicking off our first session of the program on Friday July 18th, and the program will last for four weeks. The certification program is FREE of charge, so encourage participants to apply today. Please see below for a breakdown of the program and a list of requirements. Program Breakdown: June 20th-July3rd: Pre-screening Interviews- Interested participants must call July 8th and July 10th: Invited back for individual interviews, where they will fill out an application, complete a math & reading assessment test, and fill out background check form. July 14th (first week of class): Job readiness component; M-Th 9am-5pm July 21st: Technical/commercial training; Tu-F 9am-5pm July 28th: Technical/commercial training; M-Th 9am-5pm Aug 4th: Job readiness/ job search component; M-Th 9am-5pm ApartmentWorks™ Candidates Must Meet the Following Requirements: • Minimum age 18 • High school diploma or GED • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (ApartmentWorksTM criminal background check and Live Scan) • Must speak, read, and write English • Basic computer skills • Commit to perfect attendance for the duration of the training program • Valid driver’s license • Commit to search for full-time work as an apartment maintenance technician immediately after passing the Certification exam • Secure and retain a fulltime C.N.A. job for a minimum of 90 days Application deadline is Friday, July 3rd.
