Please pardon the non-dance post, but this feels important and relevant to share (from my personal FB profile): Im from Keene, NH. Home of Keene State College. I believe that, despite the negative attention that the KSC students have been receiving after the riots during last weekends Pumpkinfest, that there is much good that happens on campus and in the college community. Today, in a small effort to live my belief in the young people that are temporary residents in my community, my 2 year old and I took our morning walk on and around campus, smiling and wishing a good day to everyone that we were able to engage. There were many, and I felt as though some of them could actually sense why we were there. I am experiencing the same mix of emotions as many Keene residents are, and this is the way I chose to act on those feelings. While there are many factors that contributed to the events of this past weekend, I am trying to remember that everything starts with human connection, and today I resolve to make my human connections honest, positive, and full of warmth. Please, lets not give up on each other. Keene, I love you!
