Please pass along your networks - especially if you are KZN! Thks :) ************************************************************* Greetings We are in great need of assistance in re-homing Charlie, a Canis Africanis (un-neutered) male of an estimated age of 9 months to 1 year. We took him in as a stray whilst on vacation in Paternoster on the weekend of the 6th October. He stayed at that house for the weekend and reports from neighbours led us to believe he had no home as he had been wandering the beach and visiting various B and Bs for scraps for the period of a month or so. His temperament is docile and pleasant, and we believe he would make a good addition to any home. He is athletic and shows good ability as a watchdog. His general health is very good, having been eradicated of fleas and ticks as well as been treated for mild patches of mange with Ectoderm dip. With better nutrition and dips, he has also become a very mild shedder. He has also received his first round of immunisations on arrival in Cape Town. He has very strong jaws, just ask our couches, chairs and cabinets! Perhaps a result of separation anxiety, he has nonetheless caused extensive damage to our furniture, possibly to the tune of R10,000. This is not unexpected, as he is not accustomed to staying inside a house. We have two well behaved Cocker Spaniels which were raised from pups, and they do not cause any damage. Simply put, we cannot have him any longer. After a month of chewing and destruction, we have reached our limit! We do not know what to do, and would like him rehoused to a more suitable household where he can remain outside. We cannot have dogs both inside and out as he is at times left alone in the house, doing more damage. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. He is, at the end of the day, a good dog with a pleasant temperament who doesnt have a bite for a human in him. We just cant have him anymore. Please help us find a new home for him.
