Please pass this on to your community groups, schools and work colleagues - the CLIMATE WEEK CHALLENGE is open to everyone. Waste/Resource management is directly related to climate change through the embodied carbon and direct emissions of those things we throw away -so please, try not to throw things away before you have thought of every other possibility (and remember, there is no such place as away). Enter the Climate Week Challenge! Have you considered entering this years Climate Week Challenge? You can do it on any day during Climate Week (3-9 March). The Climate Week Challenge is the biggest environmental competition in Britain and is backed by organisations such as the National Association of Headteachers and Girlguiding UK. It helps develop knowledge of sustainability and skills of teamwork, creativity and working to a deadline. It is completely free and requires no preparation. There are one-day and one-hour versions and several age categories. Climate Week is Britains biggest climate change campaign, with half a million people taking part in over 3,000 events across the country. It aims to show people how we CAN combat climate change by working together. Information about the challenge is at climateweek/challenge/ and registration takes just two minutes at climateweek/challenge/register-for-the-challenge/ Previous challenge tasks have been to design the ultimate eco-home, and to develop a green idea that will make money.
