Please, please say prayers for all those involved at the shooting incident at Fort Bliss in El Paso today. Apparently, it was a veteran who shot his doctor, then killed himself. There have been so many incidents like this. Of course, I would never justify a shooting. However, I think that we, as a nation, need to start PAYING ATTENTION to the fact that so much of this is happening where our Wounded Warriors and Veterans and Active Duty men and women are located...there is a REASON. I can only speculate, and I know there are many, many reasons why this could be happening. But I TRULY feel - from the feedback I consistently get from veterans and active duty clients - that WE ARE NOT TREATING OUR WARRIORS WITH PSYCHIATRIC PROBLEMS SUFFICIENTLY!!! Day after day I hear stories of warriors having to wait 3 months between therapy sessions, misappropriation of medications with little thought to interactions, and just the sheer frustration of so many who DESERVE the best of care and are not receiving it!! What does it take for our government to finally wake up and give these heroic men and women the treatment they deserve! GOD BLESS YOU ALL WHO HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH. I PRAY WITH ALL MY HEART THAT THE SYSTEM CHANGES AND GIVES YOU WHAT YOU DESERVE!!!
