Whether or not you follow diving you have to admire that a 19 year old, in the public spotlight has to have tremendous courage to do what he has done considering how narrow minded some commercial organizations still are and he relies upon sponsorship. Remember also that Matthew Mitcham - Olympian went through some tough times concerning sponsorship after publicly coming out in 2008. Whomever an athlete loves does not matter. All that a sponsor should be interested in is the ability, drive, determination and decency of the athlete. I hope that in the few years since Matthews announcement that things have changed in the corporate world - I really do.
