Please post privately if this is allowed. Its a very long one. Hi PPP. I posted last night about feeling unwell after having the coil fitted. I just want to let other ladies know my experience I have had. And please please go straight to docs if you feel unwell at all after a coil fitting. Do not put up with it! I had the coil fitted first thing Monday morning and it was more or less painless. I felt fine all Monday apart from the normal cramping. By Tuesday the cramping was almost like labour pains and felt like every bit of energy had been zapped from me. By Tuesday night laughing, coughing, sitting down on a chair and getting up sent the most agonising pain through my stomach. My whole back and legs ached like I had flu my temperature reached 40.8 and I honestly felt like death warmed up. I couldnt turn over in bed I could barley walk. My partner had to help me to and from the toilet in the night. I woke up feeling exactly the same this morning. I had been bleeding heavy since and I just couldnt cope with it anymore. I went straight back to the doctor that fitted it to have it removed. In just 3 days the coil had started to embed into my uterus and caused an infection. Had I of left it, it would of totally embedded and I would have needed key hole surgery to have it removed. Im now on 2 different antibiotics and the doctor is a little worried it has partially perforated my womb. Ive got to go back to the doctors on Wednesday for another examination. 4 hours after I had the coil removed Ive started to feel much better already. I still have a very tender tummy but the aches have almost gone. I still keep going boiling hot then freezing cold but once the antibiotics have got in my system I should start feeling better. I had tried researching how I had been feeling but found it very difficult to find any information on feeling unwell after a coil fitting. Never put it off if you feel something is wrong with anything health wise please seek medical help. I feel like I have got away quite lightly in terms of how things could of ended up.
