Please pray. This message was received this morning from UMC Missionaries in Kitwe, Zambia: We received word last night that Alfred Kabamba Mwandwe, the nurse-practitioner at the Mulungwishi clinic/mini-hospital, who is currently studying at the University of Burundi to become a full medical doctor, has become a hostage. He had been in Mulungwishi to visit his wife and family at the end of the academic term and was returning, taking a domestic Congolese flight to Goma, crossing the border to Rwanda, and then a bus to Bujumbura in Burundi--cheaper than flying all the way via Nairobi or Addis Abeba with changes of planes and likely overnight layovers. His bus was hijacked last night by Rwandan rebels and taken back toward Kigali. When he got the message out to his wife, he said there had been some deaths on the bus. That is all we know. He is an incredibly talented medical person and did a great job running the clinic before it had a full-time medical doctor in attendance. Please pray for his security and that of the other hostages. We will have big news of a more positive form for you shortly, as the TESOL construction is finally going to bids this week (buildings) and starting (road work). Jeff & Ellen Hoover
